You’re going through it.

But better days are coming.

Therapy for teens and young adults

Right now you might be struggling.

Academically. Emotionally. Relationship-wise. There’s a lot going on.

The good news? You’re not alone.

Dealing with relationships of all kinds - romantic, parental, friendships - can be tough at any age. No one gave you a handbook on this stuff, did they?

And if you’re going through a big life transition, like…

  • leaving home for the first time

  • surviving college

  • or joining the world of work

…the pressure and struggles can quickly become too much.

Hey! I’m Marie.

I’m here to help ease some of the stress, give you tools you can use to confidently step into the next phase of your life, while providing you with a deeper understanding of your patterns so you can thrive in your future relationships.

Let’s get started

LET’S WORK THROUGH IT TOGETHER

  • Boundaries. We’ll uncover exactly what your boundaries are and how to set and maintain them confidently. So you can finally stop people-pleasing and abandoning your own needs. Time to put yourself first.

  • Self-compassion. Developing a strong sense of self is key. And having compassion for yourself, especially in difficult times, can make all the difference between unnecessary suffering and moving through problems in a way that’s healthy, reflective, and solution-focused.

  • Attachment styles. We can explore and identify your attachment style/s so you can begin to pay attention to how they are presenting in your relationships. When you have a clear understanding of your style you can apply tools & techniques that can move you closer to a healthy, secure attachment.

  • Coping skills & healthy habits. Long-term happiness can feel more possible when you have learned - and are willing to put into practice - real skills, tools, and habits. We’ll figure out the combination of these that works best for you.

TOUGH STUFF I SPECIALIZE IN INCLUDES

Escaping dating violence & abuse.

Helping young clients navigate emotional abuse and dating violence is something that’s very important to me, as studies have shown these issues can begin as early as middle school.

I can help you develop an understanding for what safe and healthy relationships look like for you.

Part of my role is to help you believe that you deserve to seek and find a relationship that possesses all those qualities.

If necessary, we can create a safety plan for you to leave an abusive situation. Over time, we can rebuild your self-esteem, self-worth, and self-respect so you can avoid falling into similar relationships or situations in the future.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Judgment-free support and care. I know it can feel uncomfortable talking with a complete stranger. Please know that I am never here to judge you. My role is to offer you support, guidance, and care during each and every session.

Encouragement when you need it most. If you’ve been struggling with something and you’re coming to me for therapy, you’ve already taken a positive step in the right direction. The therapy process can be challenging - I’m here to cheer you on when things get tough (and they will!). But you’re not alone.

Have a laugh or two along the way. Yes, we’ll be digging deep into the heavy stuff. But I believe levity and laughter can be healing, too. I’ll always leave space for these moments during our sessions to help ease the tension.

Compassion & accountability. I will always strive to hold compassionate space for you. (This looks different for everyone.) As we learn each other, sharing will hopefully feel easier for you. But know that I will also encourage you to always hold yourself accountable for your actions and words.

A NOTE TO PARENTS & CAREGIVERS

Thank you for being here and for supporting your teen in seeking outside help.
You don’t have to do this alone, either!

Knowing what to do or say when your almost-adult child is struggling can feel immensely hard.

ADULT CONSENT FOR UNDER-18s

If your teen is under 18 years of age, you will have to provide consent before they can see me for therapy. Please reach out to me directly to learn more.
